Celebrate The Season with WRAL-TV as Tower Lights for Holidays |
A WRAL-TV holiday tradition continues this year as the station’s 300-foot TV tower is transformed into a 300-foot Christmas tree at 7:30pm Monday, Dec. 3, 2008.
Located at the WRAL-TV Studios at 2619 Western Boulevard in Raleigh, the lighted tower can be seen for miles through New Year’s Day.
Three 5-foot stars adorn the top of the tower and 2,805 colored lights keep it glowing throughout the holiday season.
WRAL-TV’s tower turns into a giant Christmas tree for the holidays. |
Performances for the “Tower of Lights” special include Raleigh Jazz, Tar Heel Voices and soloist Evette Anderson.
The “Celebrate the Season” program will begin at 7:30pm on WRAL-TV, and culminate with the flipping of the switch on the tower lights.
This year’s tower lighting also will make history. It will be the first time a local TV station has streamed live video on mobile phones.
The tower lighting can be viewed live on mobile phones in several different ways.
- WRAL Wireless subscribers on Sprint will be able to view it through their downloaded application.
