Charlotte’s newest professional sports team took to the field on Saturday, April 28, 2012, and My TV 12 was the official local broadcast station. The Charlotte Hounds played their home opener at Memorial Stadium against the Denver Outlaws at 7pm.
My TV 12 is the only local broadcast station in the nation to offer MLL games of the home team over the air live in full HD!
My TV 12 was onsite with tailgaters as the excitement grew closer to game time. In addition to tent handouts and giveaways, My TV 12 staff gave each fan through the gate a schedule of all 7 games that will be televised, including all away games, and the opener and closer to the season so they could watch on My TV 12 when the team is out of town.
The Hounds drew an impressive crowd of almost 7,000 for the first game.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Lacrosse fans and sports enthusiasts in our community,” said Shawn Harris, Vice-President and General Manager of My TV 12. “Capitol Broadcasting is always looking for the chance to provide our viewers with compelling local must see programming. Certainly the chance to broadcast professional sports falls into that category. Everyone at My TV12 is excited to bring The Hounds home to Charlotte in this, their debut season,” added Harris.
The full HD 1080 broadcast looked terrific on My TV 12. The Outlaws defeated the Hounds 21-12 in the home opener but My TV 12 encourages everyone to “Release Your Inner Hound” and hope for a winning season.
