In a recent news release, Artsplosure announced that Capitol Broadcasting Company has pledged the highest level sponsorship for the Millennium Celebration: First Night Raleigh 2000, to be held in downtown Raleigh, NC, on December 31, 1999. This initial investment will help make it possible to plan and produce what is considered to be a truly memorable and spectacular turn-of-the-Millennium program, according to Shan Teel, President of the Artsplosure Board of Directors.
The funds will be used for direct programming and production costs for First Night Raleigh 2000 and for a series of preview events leading up to New Year’s Eve. It is anticipated that over 100,000 people (twice the number of any previous celebration over the past seven years) will attend
