Pelicans’ Fan Prefers Minor League Atmosphere

Click article for larger view.

This article appeared in The Sun News in Myrtle Beach, October 1999

In his article, Memories of Dad, Yanks are sweet, author Rick Hamilton, an orthopedist who practices in Loris and Myrtle Beach, SC, talks about baseball and how it has influenced his past and continues to influence his present. He reminisces about his father and his ties to the minor leagues and remembers the games they used to watch together. He then talks about attending the Pelican’s games last summer at Coastal Federal Field, and how, when he went to a major league game, he actually preferred the minor league atmosphere. This article seems to sum up the feelings of many residents in Myrtle Beach and the fast affinity that has developed for the Pelicans.
