Dan Wilkinson Serves As Master Of Ceremonies For Commissioner Of Agriculture Forum

Dan Wilkinson

Dan Wilkinson, program director of Capitol AgriBusiness Network and Farm Reporter for WRAL-TV, served as the Master of Ceremonies in Harnett County for a forum held in late March to allow farmers and those interested in agriculture to meet the candidates running for Commissioner of Agriculture.

The forum was held in Lillington and drew a standing room only crowd from the farm-rich area of North Carolina. Nine of the ten candidates were able to attend

the forum and describe what they would do for the agriculture community.

Jim Graham has held the office since 1964, but announced earlier in the year that he would not seek another term in office. The race for Commissioner has proven to be one of the most hotly contested with six Republican candidates and four Democrats vying to be the top farm leader.

Wilkinson said, “Every one of the farmers I spoke with was excited to have a chance to see and hear the candidates first hand in an open forum in their community. The farmers all said they watch WRAL-TV every day and depend on our services to get their day started”.
