CBC Proudly Supports The 2000 CIAA Basketball Tournament

CBC is proud to be involved with this year’s Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference, the oldest black athletic conference in the nation.

The CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held in the new Entertainment and Sports Arena in Raleigh, NC from February 28 to March 4, 2000.

The CIAA Championship Basketball Tournament is a week-long series of tournament games, social and alumni functions, Tip-Off Banquets and Hall of Fame inductions. Capitol Broadcasting is proud to be a Scholar Sponsor of the Tournament, as well as the sponsor of the Men’s Tip-Off Banquet to be held on Tuesday, February 29. The Tip-Off Banquet will honor CIAA male athletes and the tournament’s honorary coaches.

The CIAA Men’s Basketball Tournament has been held for 55 years, with sell out crowds over the past few years. However, even without tickets, fans still flock to the host cities just to be a part of the excitement. Participating schools include: Elizabeth City State College, Fayetteville State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Livingstone College, North Carolina Central University, Saint Augustine’s College, Shaw University, Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina; Saint Paul’s College, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University in Virginia; and Bowie State University in Maryland.
