Pelicans & Build-A-Bear Workshop™ Team Up To Form Kids Club
MYRTLE BEACH, SC – – – – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans Professional Baseball Club and Build-A-Bear Workshop™ have formed the “Peli-Kids Club” for the 2000 season. This newly established club is exclusively for children ages 12 and under and lasts throughout the year.
The Pelicans and Build-A-Bear Workshop are both entering their second summer on the Grand Strand. Build-A-Bear Workshop in Myrtle Beach is located at Broadway at The Beach across the street from the home of the Pelicans, Coastal Federal Field. The Myrtle Beach Build-A-Bear Workshop is one of fourteen across the country, with a total of 25 additional Workshops planned for 2000.
At Build-A-Bear Workshop, visitors, or Guest Bear Builders, create their own stuffed animals as they “choose, stuff, stitch, fluff, name and dress” their way through a series of bear-making stations. Registration forms for the Build-A-Bear Workshop Peli-Kids Club will be made available at the Pelicans main office, the Pelicans Pro Shop, during the Pelicans home games, at Build-A-Bear Workshop and on the Pelicans web site in the “Kidszone.”
Registration begins on April 1 and is only $12 for each child.Each membership package is valued at more than $50. Membership to the 2000 Peli-Kids Club includes:
§ A free general admission ticket to all Wednesday games with a paying adult-upgrade to a Reserved Seat is only $3.
§ An exclusive Peli-Kids Club T-shirt.
§ An official Peli-Kids Club membership card.
§ A subscription to the Pelicans newsletter, The Pelican Brief. § Exclusive autograph sessions with the Pelicans players and coaches.
§ Build-A-Bear Workshop exclusive gifts.
§ Off-season holiday activities. The Wednesday, April 12 game versus the Potomac Cannons (St. Louis Cardinal’s affiliate) will be “Build-A-Bear Workshop Night” at Coastal Federal Field.
The first 2,000 children ages 12 and under entering the ballpark will receive a single son compact disc featuring the Build-A-Bear Workshop theme song. Children can register for membership in the Peli-Kids Club at the information booth behind home plate and in the Pelicans Pro Shop.
A fireworks display will follow the game. The game begins at 7:05 PM. The Pelicans begin their season on Thursday, April 6 versus the Lynchburg Hillcats (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Coastal Federal Field in Myrtle Beach. Tickets are on sale now.
