Microspace Cited For Satellite Access Success |
Microspace Communications is the world’s largest provider of broadcast data and audio satellite services for business applications, and their hard work has not gone unnoticed. The CBC subsidiary received the “Uplinker of the Year” Award at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Annual Convention 2000 in Las Vegas in April in recognition of their superior performance.
The 1999 “Uplinker of the Year Award” went to Microspace “in recognition of [their] professionalism and performance when accessing the Telestar Satellites in 1999.” Stations eligible for the award must provide satellite uplink services 50 or more times in 1999 without causing any interferences, incidents or procedure violations. Microspace received the honor at the Bronze level for 142 error-free uplinks last year.
Microspace Senior Account Manager Bonnie Southard-Sullivan said, “We have received this award numerous times over the years, but it is still quite an honor to be named. Our guys do a great job here.”
“Once again, Microspace has been recognized for our high-quality by Loral/Skynet. When one of the world’s top satellite vendors awards Microspace’s Engineering staff for a job well done, we take great pride. We’re very proud of the Video Services Group and this award.”
Loral Skynet, a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications, presents these awards each year. Loral Skynet is a leading satellite communications services provider and operates the Telstar fleet. Customers lease transponder capacity to distribute their services.
