WJZY Hosts Sky Jam 2000

Thousands upon thousands of folks lined up at the Union County Fairgrounds in Monroe on June 19th for the UPN46-Carolina Ford Dealers Sky Jam 2000. This family event celebrated its eleventh year with the likes of country music stars Colin Raye, Aaron Tippon, Shedaisy, Andy Griggs and Chad Brock.

The biggest hot air balloon & country music festival in the Carolinas, Sky Jam opened with Sky Divers at 2:00pm. The singers began performances on the concert stage at 4:00pm, while kids enjoyed rides and attendees viewed displays from various Sky Jam sponsors. The Club STV area featured karaoke and games for kids as well. Club STV is a creation of UPN46 in conjunction with a few local companies with the goal of promoting positive educational messages for area students.

The weather turned out to be picture perfect, and the day ended with a brilliant fireworks display.
