Celebrate The 4th Of July With MIX 101.5 |
The gates will open at 4:00pm tomorrow at the State Fairgrounds for the annual “Winn Dixie July 4th Celebration” sponsored by MIX 101.5. This free event features a live band, good food, midway games and amusement rides and ends with a bang with a spectacular fireworks display.
WRAL-FM has been sponsoring this celebration for over 25 years. Our own Mary Hallow heads up the event and will be joined by radio personalities Bill Jordan, Diane Ramsey, Ladawn Daniels, Wayne Michaels, and Nicci OÕHara. “Bring the whole family to celebrate our nationÕs birthday,” said Hallow.
A regional band, the Flabbergasters, will be performing their own mix of beach music in the grandstand at 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00pm. The fireworks will run for about 20 minutes, beginning at 9:15pm. MIX estimates that over 100,000 people will view the sky show from around Raleigh and that at least 50,000 will pass through the gates for the festivities of the day.
This Triangle event is run by WRAL-FM with the Raleigh parks splitting the cost and planning responsibilities. The State Fairgrounds donate the facility, security and clean-up crews.
If youÕre planning on being in town tomorrow to enjoy our CBC holiday for the 4th, be sure to stop by the Fairgrounds and join in the fun!
