RALEIGH —WRAL Digital will provide television coverage of the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions NFL game in High Definition Television (HDTV).

The annual Thanksgiving Day game will be produced by CBS Sports and broadcast live on WRAL Digital on Thursday, November 23, at 12:30pm. The HDTV telecast, featuring commentary from CBS Sports announcers Gus Johnson and Daryl Johnston, can be seen on WRAL-DT, Channel 53. HDTV programming on WRAL Digital is broadcast in 1080i, the highest definition television format.

WRAL was the first station in the country to broadcast in the Federal Communication Commission’s new digital television standard. WRAL continues to broadcast HD on a daily basis on WRAL-Digital and has accomplished a number of firsts in the industry, including an all HD newscast, a local documentary, sporting events and live news coverage.
