Bulls Ballpark Hits The Small Screen

GlaxoSmithKline shot footage for an in-house video at the DBAP.

No, it isn’t a remake of “Bull Durham,” but GlaxoSmithKline brought cameras, lights and actors to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park last month. GSK shot a video on the effective use of sports venue entertainment. GSK leases suites at the DBAP and Raleigh’s ESA for customer and employee hospitality.

“The Durham ballpark facilities and staff are first class,” according to producer Mark Brumback with Mb Productions. “The logistics of pulling off the video were made easier by the tremendous cooperation of the DBAP staff, especially Jon Bishop, Barbara Goss and Aaron Bare. They were instrumental in coordinating the facilities and other services for the video crew.”

DBAP staff members made the film crew’s job easy.

Coincidentally, in a February Sports Illustrated article, “Bull Durham” was ranked the Number One sports movie of all time.

Thanks to Capitol Sports/Baseball Clubs Vice President George Habel for providing this article.

“Bull Durham” was filmed at the old ballpark.
