CBC Technology Tapped for Metro‘s High-tech 100 |
Metro Magazine has published its High-tech 100 list for 2001, and two CBC entities and one CBC partner have made the list. WRAL Digital, DTV Plus and accessDTV are all on the list of telephony, wireless or networking companies to watch according to the Triangle publication.
Compiled for the second time in the magazine’s two-year history, the High-tech 100 list focuses on cutting-edge companies in the region. The panel of judges selected 100 companies in 12 categories based on criteria such as being involved in cutting-edge technology research, development and production and delivering high-tech services across much of the region.
WRAL Digital and DTV Plus were named jointly to the wireless category. AccessDTV made the wireless list as well. They joined the likes of BTI, Cisco Systems, Time Warner Telecom & Internet and others in their category on Metro Magazine‘s list.
“The three firms are betting that HDTV will catch the public’s fancy, with accessDTV and DTV Plus capitalizing on the benefits of digital TV and wireless data transmission without end users having to buy expensive HDTV set,” the Metro Magazine article stated.
