Pelicans Voted Best In Carolina League |
The Carolina League field managers and umpires recognized the Myrtle Beach Pelicans as having the league’s finest organization in 2001. The managers and umpires graded each team in the categories of clubhouse facilities, clubhouse services, lights, playing surface, front office cooperation, bullpens, dugouts and host hotel. The Pelicans’ average score from the managers and umpires was 4.57 out of a possible 5.
“The results of this balloting only confirms what I have believed all along – We have a first class staff and facility right here in Myrtle Beach,” said Gary Saunders, Myrtle Beach Pelicans General Manager. ” I am very proud of our entire operation and believe our great people are the true reason for this recognition.”
