WRAL-TV Brings Home Regional Emmys

WRAL-TV Consumer Reporter Monica Laliberte(left) & Producer Lori Lair received a regional Emmy for their story about flooded cars.
WRAL-TV’s dedication to excellence garnered recognition for the station at the Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards; the Raleigh station took home six statuettes at the recent awards ceremony. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) presented the awards at a banquet at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, January 27, 2001.

From the 640 entries received by NATAS, 208 nominations were made in 56 categories. WRAL-TV received 20 nominations, and then took home six of the over 50 statuettes awarded. WRAL’s sister station, WRAZ/FOX50 in Durham, received three nominations.
