Bird Feed: Food Options Abound at Pelicans Games
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Myrtle Beach Pelicans welcome a variety of new food options at Coastal Federal Field for the 2001 season. Papa John’s Pizza, Heavenly Ham, Wendy’s, Dole and Minute Maid are a handful of the new vendors serving their food and beverage during the Pelicans third season.
Papa John’s Pizza will be serving slices and whole pizzas. The pizzas can be purchased at the main concession stands, will be hawked in the seating areas and will be available for the luxury suite guests. In addition to serving their product, Papa John’s Pizza corporate sponsorship with the Pelicans includes sponsorship of the Opening Night festivities that include the entertainment act “Reggy” and the magnet schedule giveaway to all fans. Papa John’s Pizza will sponsor the daily Pelicans pre-game radio show interview on 99.5 FM WRNN.
Heavenly Ham will have box meals available for purchase. The box meal consists of a deli-meat sandwich, Lay’s Potato Chips and a dessert. Heavenly Ham’s box meal can be purchased at a kiosk in the main concourse. Heavenly Ham’s corporate sponsorship with the Pelicans includes a game program ad and a co-sponsorship with Independent Seniors Magazine for Senior Sundays (a discount ticket day for people ages 60 and over).
Wendy’s will serve their 12-ounce Frosty desserts at the sweet shop located at the main concession stand. The Pelicans corporate sponsorship with Wendy’s includes an outfield billboard, radio ads and sponsorship of in-between-inning promotions.
Fans attending Pelicans games will also be able to purchase Dole fruit juices and Minute Maid frozen lemonade. Ovations Food Service will feature local cuisine serving Bar-B-Q sandwiches at the third base grill stand, and they will have new brands of hamburgers and hot dogs in the Pelicans Porch (the picnic area down the right field line).
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans quest for their third consecutive championship begins on Friday, April 6 with a 7:05 PM first pitch. The Pelicans welcome the Winston-Salem Warthogs (Chicago White Sox) to Coastal Federal Field for a three-game weekend series. Individual game tickets (including Opening Night) are available for purchase on the Pelicans web site (www.myrtlebeachpelicans.com), by calling 843-918-6000 or stop by the stadium ticket office during business hours.
