Pelicans To Host Legends Game
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Sprint PCS will present the “Legends of Baseball” game featuring former Major League players. The game will be at Coastal Federal Field in Myrtle Beach at 7:05 PM on Thursday, September 20 as part of the Minor League Baseball Promotional Seminar on September 20-22. The three-day seminar is in its 25th year, and this is the first year Myrtle Beach will host the event.
The “Sprint PCS Legends of Baseball” players scheduled to attend this unique event include Fergie Jenkins, Vida Blue, Kent Tekulve, Sixto Lezcano, Kelly Gruber, Franklin Stubbs, Rafael Belliard, George Foster, Len Barker, Jay Johnstone, Keith Moreland, Dave Parker, Bruce Dal Canton, Tommy Gregg and more. Myrtle Beach Pelicans’ Manager Brian Snitker will manage one of the teams. The two teams will be named the Coasters and Palmettos. Complete rosters will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Sprint PCS, ASA Delta Connection, AIS and the City of Myrtle Beach have contributed to making this event possible. The event logo will be sent via e-mail to all media outlets on the Pelicans e-mail list. Tickets for the “Sprint PCS Legends of Baseball” game are now available at the Coastal Federal Field ticket office and on-line at www.myrtlebeachpelicans.com. The ticket prices are $9 (Box Seats), $8 (Terrace Box), $7 (Reserved Seats) and $4 (General Admission). Group rates (20 or more) are available on Terrace and Reserved seating. The three-day promotional seminar attracts baseball and other sports executives. It will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. The topics to be discussed include promotions, sales, marketing, tickets and operations within the business of sports. An impressive list of guest speakers will share ideas, too. In addition to the “Sprint PCS Legends of Baseball” game, the Pelicans will co-host a private party at the House of Blues and a golf outing at The Grande Dunes Golf Club. A trade-show with the display of products and services that support the baseball industry complements the three-day event at the MB Convention Center.
