Relief For America – Collection Results
Raleigh, NC- A fund-raiser for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund raised $463,775 on Thursday, September 12, 2001. Triangle residents were asked to drop off financial donations at three locations in Raleigh, Durham and Cary, NC. Huge collection boxes were at each location. Appointments were also taken to give blood. Five thousand flags were distributed to many of the donors. Many donors commented, “other areas came to our aid after the many devastating hurricanes to hit NC….it’s our turn to give back to those that helped us.”
All financial donations will go directly to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which will in turn help the victims and families of the recent attack on America. ARC Disaster Relief Funds are used food, shelter and mental health support for the victims, their families as well as rescue workers.
