Kathryn Bilbro of Capital Development Services nominated the Goodmons as Outstanding Volunteer Fund Raisers and presented the award. She pointed out that between the two, the Goodmons have served on the Boards of over

60 non-profit organizations. In accepting the award, Barbara Goodmon said, “Why do we do this? It’s instinctive…it’s the right thing to do.”

The AFP, one of 110 chapters in North America that celebrate National Philanthropy Day, gave “thanks to individuals for commitment to the community” with the theme, “Change the World With A Giving Heart.”
