Baseball went on all day and into the night.

The Durham Bulls played host to the 2002 NC State Games High School Baseball competition at the ballpark on Thursday, June 20, 2002 from 9:00am – midnight. Five games took placed round the clock, as many college and pro scouts looked on.

The DBAP staff manned the event, with Capitol Broadcasting Company managers and interns volunteering their time to help as well. CBC is a founding sponsor of NC Amateur Sports and the NC State Games; Durham Bulls Manager & CBC Vice President George Habel serves as Vice Chairman of the Board.

“Our staff put in a long day,” said Habel. “I appreciate their dedication. And I’m glad we can give these top high school athletes the opportunity to play in a big-league venue.”
