Bulls To Host Auction For Charity League |
This Saturday, August 10, 2002, the Durham Bulls will host the 2nd Annual Durham Bulls Youth Athletic League (DBYAL) Charity Auction to raise money for the kids in the Bull City. Over 70 items will be available for bids, displayed on the concourse during the match-up between the Bulls and the Richmond Braves.
Items in the auction include a game-used, autographed Carl Crawford bat; an autographed basketball by Duke Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski; and autographed baseballs from Hall-of-Famers Jim Palmer and Joe Morgan. There are also some opportunities to bid on…such as a romantic dinner for two served at home plate, a night on the TV crew, a race against Wool E. Bull, and much more.
Bids can be made in person at the game or online until noon tomorrow, August 10th, via email at info@durhambulls.com.
Created in 1994, the DBYAL offers the opportunity to play organized baseball to Durham’s inner city youth free of charge. Through the DBYAL, the Bulls are raising funds for a “Field of Dreams,” a renovation project for two baseball fields in Northeast Central Durham. The “Field of Dreams” will become the new home for the league once complete.
