Coats For the Children Telethon Postponed

Coats For the Children Telethon Postponed

Because of the ice storm that hit the Triangle late Wednesday afternoon, December 4, 2002, the 14th annual Coats for the Children planned on WRAL-TV for that Friday has been postponed until Friday, December 13, 2002. WRAL-TV anchors will broadcast live from the telephone bank for four thirty-minute segments throughout the day as volunteers take donations via phone and Internet.

Each year WRAL-TV spends the month of December collecting new and gently used winter coats for children in the Triangle. The coats, warm clothing, gloves, scarves, and new winter underwear are given to the Salvation Army for distribution.

Donations are now being accepted online at WRAL.com. You may also make donations by calling in on the 13th.
