CBC’s Anlyan To Chair as Durham Chamber

The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce has selected CBC’s General Manager of the American Tobacco Project Peter Anlyan as the chair of its board of directors for 2003. Anylan’s appointment came on Thursday, December 12, 2002. He will take charge of the over 1,500 members of the organization.
The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce promotes the Bull City’s business & industry. Anlyan will focus his tenure on maintaining the chamber’s focus on economic and work force development.
“First and foremost is economic development,” said Anlyan, “and under that umbrella, something that’s important is work force development.”
Chamber President Tom White said, “Peter has such great knowledge of the community by growing up in Durham, and he has a tremendous rapport with organizations. When you get Peter Anlyan, you get someone who can work across a wide range of community organizations.”
Anlyan follows Duke Energy Corp VP Richard “Stick” Williams in the chairman’s seat.
