FOX Pulls Great Ratings |
Often considered the fourth major network, nationally FOX snagged first place ratings on Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Smash hit American Idol and the critically acclaimed drama 24 won their primetime slots among national viewers.
FOX won the night in adults 18 to 49 with an 8.1 rating/19 share, which was 65% better than the second place network, NBC. FOX won the night in total viewers with 16.4 million and in households with a 9.3 rating/15 share.
American Idol won the 8pm hour in adults 18 to 49 with a 9.7 rating/24 share and in total viewers with 20.1 million. 24 won the 9pm hour with a 6.4 rating/15 share and took second in total viewers with 12.7 million according to Nielsen Media Research data.
Locally, American Idol‘s showing on FOX50, Capitol Broadcasting Company’s WRAZ-TV, nabbed the highest rated program in the market Tuesday night with a 12.4 rating/18 share. 24 took second place in its time slot (8.0 rating/12 share) behind WRAZ’s sister station WRAL-TV’s The Guardian.
Overall, WRAL-TV won with 8-10pm block with an 11.2 rating and FOX50 took second with a 10.2.
