The Durham Bulls Walk for Education |
The 2002 Walk for Education raised over $61,000 and boasted over 1,000 participants. |
On Saturday, April 26, 2003, the Durham Bulls will play host to the Durham Walk for Education. The Durham Public Education Network (DPEN) organizes the annual event, which begins and ends at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
In its inaugural year of 2002, the Walk raised $61,000 to support the participating schools and the work of the DPEN. Over 1,000 participated in the 2002 event. A variety of community groups including public schools, businesses, government officials and churches support the improvement of education through the now annual Walk.
