WRAL-TV came out on top when the winners of the PROMAX awards were announced recently. The Raleigh Capitol Broadcasting Company station walked away with the following awards:
Gold Medallion – Broadcast Television Station (In-House) – Special Event Program Promotion: One Unprecedented Day. Animation by WRAL-TV’s Bill Reeves, written & produced by Shelly Leslie. This promo teased WRAL’s coverage of “9/11…One Year Later.”
Gold Medallion – Broadcast Television Station (In-House) – Promotional Animation: God Bless Our Troops. Animation by Bill Reeves.
Silver Medallion – Broadcast Television Station (In-House) – News Program Promotion: Patient…Person. Written & produced by WRAL-TV’s Christian McIlwain. This promo was about Mike Lancaster, the cancer patient who invited WRAL to document his experiences.
Gold Medallion – Broadcast Television Station (In-House) – News Program Production: “Hands On” for FOX50 Morning News. Written & produced by Christian McIlwain. This promo launched the FOX 50 Morning News at 7am, featuring WRAL-TV’s Loretta Harper Arnold in the starring role.
WRAL also won an award from the international organization Broadcast Design Association. The station won a silver medallion in the BDA News Programs, In-House Image Promo, :30 or less for “9/11… One Year Later,” created by Bill Reeves & Shelly Leslie.
