The Durham Bulls cordially invite you to attend the team’s Back-2-Back Championship Celebration on Wednesday, October 1st at 12:00 PM at the Diamond View Building next to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays Owner Vince Naimoli, Rays General Manager Chuck Lamar, Capitol Broadcasting Company President/CEO Jim Goodmon and Durham Mayor Bill Bell will be in attendance to honor Bulls Manager Bill Evers, the winningest manager in Durham Bulls History. Complimentary food and drink will be offered to all fans at the celebration.

With his second International League Championship in as many years, Evers has accumulated one of the most impressive records of any manager in team and league history.

For more information on the festivities, contact the Durham Bulls Public Relations Department at (919) 687-6516.

Evers’ accolades include…

  • A record 471 career wins as Durham Bulls Manager, 152 more than George Whitted (1927-’32).
  • A winning percentage of .697 (23-10) in the Governors’ Cup Playoffs, highest in league history.
  • The only manager in Bulls History to win back-to-back titles. The only manager in the 119-year history of the International League to sweep back-to-back Governors’ Cup Finals (6-0), beating the Buffalo Bisons in 2002 and the Pawtucket Red Sox in 2003.
  • The tenth manager in league history to win back-to-back titles and 13th to win two Governors’ Cups.
  • The first manager since Joe Morgan in 1978 to make at least four appearances in the Governors’ Cup Finals and first to do it with the same team since Jewel Ens (Newark) in 1948.
  • Five South Division Championships as Bulls Manager.
  • Over 1,200 career victories as a minor league manager.

Congratulations to the Bulls & GM Bill Evers!
