Coats For Children Telethon To Help Provide Warmth for Triangle Children |
As part of its annual campaign to collect winter wear for needy children, WRAL-TV presents the “Coats For the Children Telethon” on Friday, December 5, 2003. Telethon operators will man the phone banks from 6am until midnight, with live broadcasts throughout the day on WRAL-TV’s news programs. Three half-hour specials will also run as part of the telethon, at 12:30pm, 7pm and 11:35pm.
The money raised will help buy coats, gloves, warm clothing and shoes for Triangle children in need. Since 1989, WRAL has collected over 73,000 coats and $643,000 to provide winter clothing for Salvation Army families.
WRAL-TV’s “Coats for the Children” campaign runs from Nov. 22 through Dec. 31. Gently used or new winter coats are being accepting at the WRAL-TV studios as well as Jiffy Lube and Chick-fil-A locations in the viewing area.
