Several WRAL-FM /MIX 101.5 listeners got an early Christmas present at Crabtree Valley Mall on Monday, December 22, 2003. 101 fans were selected from entries to receive a sealed envelope at noon. All envelopes contained prizes, but several contained tickets to that night’s Carolina Hurricanes game at which American Idol recording star Clay Aiken performed the National Anthem and one of his hit songs.
Two lucky MIX listeners won 4 VIP suite tickets and the opportunity to meet Aiken during the game. Aiken also appeared at the mall to say hi to the entrants and help give out prizes.
MIX Morning Show hosts Bill Jordan & Sheri Logan emceed the giveaway event at the mall. The two also presented Aiken with a $10,000 check for his Bubel/Aiken Foundation from MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM.
