DBAP Selected For Great Parks Calendar |
The Durham Bulls have announced a photo of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park has been selected for the 2004 Baseball America Great Parks Calendar. It is being selected for the second time in the 10-year history of the ballpark.
The image, taken by Jim Shaw of Bob Boyd Photography, depicts a capacity crowd at the Bulls game on May 8th when American Idol’s Clay Aiken performed the National Anthem at the ballpark. It features the famous Blue Monster and Snorting Bull in left field along with the skyline of downtown Durham.
“That was a great day,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “We had a huge crowd, an entertaining game and a Bulls victory. We’re honored that Baseball America selected an image from that game for their calendar.”
The Great Parks Calendar, produced by Baseball America since 1984, depicts a different stadium from Major League, Minor League and Independent League Baseball each month with details about the stadium featured.
“Parks are selected based primarily on the quality of photo submitted. We want to try and represent all classifications of minor league and independent baseball, while showcasing great stadium photography,” Baseball America representative Phillip Daquila said.
Fans interested in purchasing a calendar can order by phone at 800-845-2726 or online at www.baseballamerica.com.
