The Philanthropy Journal, an online publication of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation, has redesigned its web site.
Initially launched in February 2000, the new site reports on charitable giving, fundraising and managing, both in North Carolina and throughout the U.S. and abroad.
The Journal staff – Todd Cohen, Suzie Koonce and Jennifer Whytock — spent months working with Neulogic, a technology firm in Columbus, Ohio, to create the new site, which also features opinion columns, letters to the editor and online discussion about nonprofit and social issues.
A new Fletcher Focus section features a regular column by Barbara Goodmon, president of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation, and highlights groups and causes the foundation supports. The inaugural issue, for example, has a story on Leon Silber, who is retiring as executive director of The Achievement School.
The Journal also features a roundup of nonprofit news reported elsewhere, along with announcements about people and organizations, gifts and grants, and events.
“We hope our new publication will help people better understand, work in and support the nonprofit and philanthropic world, and help people recognize and solve social problems,” says Cohen.
