FOX50 Promotion Wins Addy Award |
FOX50 Producer Tim Greeney |
FOX50 Producer Tim Greeney won a Bronze Addy Award in the Television – TV Self-Promotion category for a spot he created for the Durham station. Sponsored by the Ad Club of the Triangle, the awards presentation took place at the Embassy Suites in Cary on Saturday February 21, 2004.
Greeney’s spot won one of the 61 awards presented during the evening. He brought home his trophy for the “Separated at Birth” promo in which he compared the two characters George Costanza of Seinfeld and Bobby Hill of King of the Hill.
“I wanted to promote these two shows in a way that was funny by highlighting two of the more prominent characters,” explained Greeney. “It took me a number of hours of searching through show tapes to find just the right video. Then it was just a matter of editing the video to show how similar the two characters are.”
The Addy Awards” recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising” and are conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation.
