Public Invited to Tour American Tobacco
One addition to the American Tobacco Campus is the South Parking Deck. |
Progress on the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham continues at a steady pace, and now the public can get a sneak peak at what’s going on behind the construction fence.
On Tuesday, April 13, 2004, the American Tobacco Project staff from Capitol Broadcasting led its first public tour through the campus.
Hour-long guided tours will be conducted every Tuesday morning at 11am. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, as construction is ongoing. Glasses and hard hats will be provided.
The first tenants are expected to move into offices in June, as Phase 1 of the construction wraps. The next phase will include retail, specifically several restaurants.
The American Tobacco Campus is located in downtown Durham across Blackwell Street from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
