NCNN’s Ferrell Honored For Community Contribution |
The Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Coalition of NC bestowed its 2004 Community Award to NCNN Anchor/Reporter Bruce Ferrell. The APPC-NC made the presentation at a luncheon during its annual day-long symposium in Greensboro on Thursday, May 6, 2004.

The award honors to someone who has made an exceptional contribution to building public understanding of adolescent pregnancy prevention in North Carolina.
“Ferrell was chosen as the 2004 recipient because each year for the past 5 years, he has highlighted APPCNC’s ‘Let’s Talk’ Month (October) and the need for teen pregnancy prevention in North Carolina on a 30 minute talk show,” said APPCNC President Linda Rigsbee.
A non-profit organization, APPCNC partners with individuals, agencies and communities in North Carolina to prevent teen pregnancy thereby improving the lives of young people. The organization provides services in all 100 North Carolina counties
