FOX50 Gimme the Mike Adds to Finals List

Gimme the MikeAfter a couple more episodes of Gimme the Mike, two more finalists have been added to the slate for the live finale airing on July 7, 2004. The third and fourth episodes of the Triangle program aired on Wednesday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 24, each at 7:30pm.

On the June 16 show, Anita Norris of Raleigh won over the judges and became the third finalist. Norris is a 28-year-old bookkeeper at an auto salvage company. She joins Salimah Bryant and Jason Carroll, already selected in the first two episodes which aired in early June.

After the third installment of Gimme the Mike, the audience voted Darsen Sowers of Raleigh as their Wild Card bid. Darsen is a 31-year-old accountant.

On the June 24 show, Veeda McClary of Raleigh earned the right to move on and compete for the title. Thirty-three year-old McClary is an administrative assistant at a Research Triangle Park company.

The audience selected Raleigh’s Kayla Thompson as the Wild Card after the fourth episode of Gimme the Mike. She is a 21-year-old assistant at a Chapel Hill car dealership.

Both Darsen and Thompson advance to the Ultimate Wild Card playoff bracket, online at www.fox50.com July 1-4.

Each show features five local singers who have the chance to showcase their talent for 90 seconds in front of the FOX 50 Gimme the Mike judges and a live studio audience. Each week, the judges select one lucky contestant who advances to the live one-hour show finale on July 7th to compete for the grand prize.

The last semi-final show airs on Wednesday, June 30th at 7:30pm.

The judges will choose their last contestant for the finals on the Wednesday, July 30, episode.
