WRAL-FM Joins the Battle Against Domestic Violence

During the month of August WRAL-FM is dedicating its Public Service commitment to raising awareness for Domestic Violence in North Carolina. Morning co-host Sheri Logan has taken the lead in the effort, sponsoring a tennis tournament and encouraging listeners to collect items and donations for Interact.
Interact’s mission is to provide safety and support to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and to promote violence-free relationships and communities through collaboration, public information, and advocacy. Interact serves Wake County with free counseling services, 24-hour crisis-lines, residential shelter, court and hospital advocacy, and community education programming to schools, businesses, and civic organizations.
Logan will co-host the 2nd Annual Women’s Doubles Charity Tennis Classic, presented by Mercedes-Benz of Cary and the Cary Community Tennis Association, to benefit Interact y and the CCTA Junior Scholarships Fund on Friday, August 20, at the Cary Tennis Center.
MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM is also holding several drop-off events, where you can bring your donation (money or materials) to Interact of Wake County. They are collecting cash and checks, and other suggested items. For a detailed list, click here. The remaining drop-off events will be held Wed, August 18 th from 5-6pm and Wed, August 25 th from noon-1pm in the Sears parking lot near the intersection of Glenwood Ave and Creedmoor Road at Crabtree Valley Mall. Listeners can also drop off donations at the WRAL-FM studios at 711 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9am til 5pm.
