WRAL-TV To Host Annual Pops in the Park |
WRAL-TV will once again host its signature Labor Day weekend event with Pops in the Park at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park in Cary. The North Carolina Symphony will headline the event on Sunday, September 5, 200, along with guest artists WRAL-TV Anchor Bill Leslie and his Celtic band, Lorica.
Pops in the Park is a free event and great for the entire family! Gates open at 5pm and the NC Symphony takes the stage at 7pm, concluding with fireworks at 9pm.
For the first time WRAL is partnering with the United Arts of Raleigh and Wake County for Pops in the Park. This non-profit arts organization has scheduled local artists to perform during the afternoon hours. And MIX 101.5’s Diane Ramsey hosts the afternoon performances, including Tango Dancers, Exploris Middle School Chorus, Community Music School, Raleigh Jazz Trio and soloist Rozlyn Sorrell, again, all beginning at 5pm. Pops in the Park also features an orchestra “petting zoo,” where children get hands on experience with symphonic instruments.
Chairs and blankets are welcome, and for this special event brought-in food and beverage are allowed. Food and beverages will also be available at the amphitheatre. Pets are not allowed.
WRAL-TV will air the Pops broadcast on Monday, September 6th from 7-8pm.
