Pelicans Release 2005 Schedule |
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans have released their 2005 schedule, with the Pelicans kicking off the ’05 campaign at home against the Wilmington Blue Rocks on April 7th at 7:05pm. The Pelicans will host the Blue Rocks as part of a four-game homestand to get the season underway. The “Birds” will play 14 home games in April, giving fans a great opportunity to catch their hometown team early and often in 2005.
Now in their 7th year, the Pelicans will play all 70 home games at Coastal Federal Field, the ballpark that was rated the #2 venue in America at the Class A level by Baseball America. This season the Pelicans will have the first pitch at 7:05pm for all weekday games. Sunday games will begin at 2:05pm through most of May. At the end of May, Sunday games will begin at 6:05pm. Myrtle Beach will once again close out their season against their rivals and the 2004 Carolina League Champion, Kinston Indians. The Pelicans will play 14 home games in June, 16 in July and only 9 homegames in August.
On May 25th the Pelicans will host their annual “Educational Kids Day,” with schools from around the Myrtle Beach area participating in fun activities throughout the day while taking in a ballgame. Activities for “Educational Kids Day” begin early in the morning with the first pitch of the Pelicans vs. Winston-Salem Warthogs set for 11:05am.
The Pelicans are expecting great crowds once again in 2005. Season tickets packages for the 2005 season are currently available. Ticket information is available on the Pelicans website, www.mytlebeachpelicans.com.
This past season saw the Pelicans battle to a 75-63 record.
