CBC Stations Continue Dominance in November Sweeps

The November 2004 ratings sweeps results are in and WRAL-TV’s news on both WRAL and sister station FOX 50 maintain their lead over other stations in the Triangle viewing area.
“The November ratings period marks the 52nd consecutive ratings period that WRAL News at 6PM has been #1 in Persons 25-54,” reported WRAL-TV Research Director Gary Galloway.
WRAL won time slots across the board at all times but early morning.

Sweeps Four periods during the year when Nielsen Media Research measures viewership for both households & demographics. They occur in February, May, July & November.

“WRAL News at 11PM is not only the dominant news program, it is a growing news program,” said Galloway . “November, 2004 ratings for Persons 25-54 were 14% higher than the year before. Male demos were also up significantly for November 2004.”
CBS networking programming also drew strong numbers for WRAL. CBS prime time on WRAL won the top slot for both 18-49 and 25-54 demographics for all persons, both male & female on Monday and Thursday nights. WRAL’s 11pm News retains 93% of its “CSI: Miami ” share on Monday nights. The original “CSI” average household (HH) rating doubles the combined HH rating total for all WTVD prime time shows on Thursday nights.
With WRAL’S 10PM NEWS ON FOX50, FOX 50 won the 10pm news slot against competitor WLFL with a 3.8 rating compared to WLFL’s 2.1.
