The Pelicans ’05 ticket sales kick-off is surrounded by one of the busiest weekends of the year at Coastal Federal Field. Aside from the action taking place in the Pelicans box office the ball club will be involved in a number of different activities throughout the weekend including “Baseball at the Beach,” the Myrtle Beach Marathon and the Bike Races – Sponsored by the Pelicans. Some Pelican staffers will be breaking out their PF-Flyers and Chuck Taylor’s and will actually join the hundreds of runners for the 8th annual Myrtle Beach Marathon.
“With ‘Baseball at the Beach’, the Myrtle Beach Marathon, and the Pelicans Bike Race taking place at and around the ballpark we felt like it was an opportune time to go public with our individual ticket sales for the upcoming season. We’re the hub of activity for the weekend! This is an exciting time for us because it means that we are getting that much closer to another season here in Myrtle Beach,” said Richard Graves, Pelicans Director of Ticketing.
The Pelicans will be selling tickets for the annual college baseball classic, “Baseball at the Beach,” a showcase of the top talent in NCAA Baseball. Clemson, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina and West Virginia will take to the diamond on February 18th, 19th and 20th. Tickets to “Baseball at the Beach” cost $20 for the entire tournament or $8 per game. Pelican’s luxury suites are also currently available to rent for the college games. The suites seat 16-24 people and start at $400 per day. Fans can purchase tickets, and reserve suites through the Pelicans box office at Coastal Federal Field or by calling 843-918-6000.
On top of everything else, the Pelicans are proud to announce that they are the title sponsor for three bicycle races on Sunday, February 20th. The distances of the races range from 10-63 miles. The start and finish lines will be at Coastal Federal Field and the starting time is set for 7am. It is a non-competitive event, but a clock will be on hand to tick away, showing the time of each biker.
You won’t want to miss all of the entertaining events taking place February 18-20, starting with the opening of the Pelicans box office and sales of individual Pelicans game tickets for 2005. The season officially begins in just 73 days, April 7th when the Pelicans play host the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Class-A, Boston Red Sox). Get your tickets for opening day when individual tickets go on sale, February 18th at 10am.
