The Durham Bulls have announced plans for the Triangle’s Largest Garage Sale at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Saturday, March 5, 2005, from 9am to 1pm. The event kicks off the first day of individual ticket sales for Bulls home games in April, May and June.
“We’ve accumulated a lot of stuff over our first 10 years at the DBAP,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “We’d rather have it available for the fans to enjoy then have it sitting in storage.”
Along with the Bulls, Baseball America and the Carolina Hurricanes will have items available for sale including caps, t-shirts, batting helmets and bobbleheads. Also available are vintage stadium signs, banners and other pieces of memorabilia. As an added bonus, fans will receive a $1.00 voucher good at the garage sale for every ticket they purchase that day up to 20. All proceeds from the garage sale will benefit Duke Children’s Hospital and the Durham Bulls Youth Athletic League.
Children can come out and test their arms at the speed pitch machine or check their accuracy at the slapshot machine. There will be free face painting, balloon animals and appearances by Stormy the Ice Hog and Wool E. Bull.
