Michigan J. Frog, from Charlotte’s WB, took part in the grand opening of Charlotte’s newest fire station. |
The mascot for Charlotte’s WB, Michigan J. Frog, donned his top hat for a special appearance at Charlotte’s Fire Station #10 on Saturday, March 12, 2005. He joined the department for its first “Firefighter Career Awareness Day.”
Potential applicants were invited to the station between 9am and 1pm to answer the question, “Are you strong enough?” – the theme for the day. The event celebrated the grand opening of Charlotte’s Fire Station #10, the newest addition to the Queen City’s firefighting family. Families and recruits alike were welcomed at the station for tours and a chance to meet fire department personnel.
“I just wanted to say thank you again for helping us promote our career awareness event at Charlotte Fire Station 10 this past weekend,” Karmen Martin of the Charlotte Fire Department told the staff at WWWB-TV. “Your mascot, Michigan J. Frog, was a big hit!”
“We estimate that 250 people visited the station and 100 people took our physical agilities test. With your station’s help, we were able to showcase Charlotte’s newest fire station.”
