Katrina You can help the victims of Hurricane Katrina by giving to the American Red Cross.

Make your check payable to:
American Red Cross

Raleigh, NC 27610

Please write “WRAL Disaster Relief” in the memo line.

Other Ways to Help:

  • The Helping Hand organization is currently collecting gloves, shovels, water, toiletries, and nonperishable foods to be taken to areas hit by Katrina. Donations may be dropped off at the Helping Hand Mission at 623 Rock Quarry Road. The mission will accept donations through Monday, Sept 5.
  • If you want to volunteer their time in the affected regions, below is the organization FEMA requests potential volunteers to contact in order to find out how they can help.
