CBC Stations Coordinate Food Drive for Katrina Victims

CBC’s Triangle stations are banding together with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina to hold a food drive to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The drive is taking place today, Thursday, September 8th at multiple central NC locations. WRAL-TV, FOX50, and WRAL-FM are working together in this effort.

Thursday, September 8
6:00 am – 7:00 pm
Operation Storm Relief Food Drive

Food Drive items can be dropped off at the following locations:

Cary – Cary Towne Center
Durham – Diamond View Parking Lot (directly in front of FOX 50 on Mangum Street)
Fayetteville – Cross Creek Mall
Rocky Mount – Golden East Crossing

According to the NC Food Bank, the following items are needed:

*NO GLASS PLEASE*

PAPER GOODS: Plates, Cups, Toilet Tissue, Paper Towels

SINGLE SERVING SNACKS: Pop Tarts, Nutrition & Granola Bars, Beef Jerky

READY TO EAT FOODS (in easy open packaging): Chili, Stew, Canned Fruit Cocktail, Tuna in Pouches, Peanut Butter

INFANT PRODUCTS: Infant Cereal, Infant Formula, Diapers [Loose glass and plastic jars of baby food will have to be discarded due to health regulations. Unopened cases only will be accepted.]

HYGIENE PRODUCTS: Shampoo, Feminine Products, Toothpaste, Soap, Hand Sanitizer
