WCMC-FM 99.9 Genuine Country, the new Triangle radio station recently launched by Capitol Broadcasting Company, held its first live broadcast at 3pm on Thursday, January 26, 2006. WCMC has hired radio personality Dallas Reese to fill the afternoon 3pm – 7pm slot on weekdays, and he kicked off the first hosted afternoon for the station.
The New 99.9 Genuine Country launched in October 2005, playing 10,000 songs in a row. The station has continued to play music, now with commercials, and is now working on filling out the day with on-air talent.

Reese is the first on that list and will also serve as Music Director. He joins WCMC with over 19 years of radio industry experience. He began his career at Appalachian State University’s campus radio station, where he graduated with a degree in communications. Most recently, Dallas was the afternoon announcer for country stations 104.1 WTQR in Winston-Salem/Greensboro, NC, and has worked at 92.5 WESC in Greenville/Spartanburg, SC and 99.7 WCYK in Charlottesville, VA. While at WTQR, the station was named the 2002 Large Market Country Music Association Station of the Year and was nominated in 2003 as one of the five best in America by the Academy of Country Music. Dallas has also worked in Nashville, TN; Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA during his broadcasting career.

“Dallas has a terrific knowledge of radio and country music,” commented Joe Wade Formicola, Operations Manager/Program Director for The New 99.9 Genuine Country. “His background is vast, both on and off the air, which made him an ideal candidate.”
