WCMC Signs Jay Butler as Saturday Night Request Show Host

Saturday nights just got a lot more exciting for listeners of WCMC-FM, The New 99.9 Genuine Country. Capitol Broadcasting Company recently announced the hiring of Jay Butler as the host of Jay Butler’s Saturday Night Request Show, Saturday nights from 7pm – 12am for The New 99.9 Genuine Country. Listeners will now be able to chose what songs they want to hear.
Butler is the latest to join the line-up of WCMC talent as the new country station begins to fill out its programming with on-air personalities.
Butler joins The New 99.9 Genuine Country with over 29 years of Raleigh radio industry experience. During his career, he has worked for Triangle stations WDCG, WDNC, WKIX and WQDR. In addition to radio, Butler was an actor with the Raleigh Little Theater and starred in the 1986 motion picture, “Raw Deal” with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Butler left radio in 2001 to work on “Outdoor Excursions,” a hunting and fishing show that aired on Fox Sports Net, The Outdoor Life Network and FOX 50.
“Jay has a vast knowledge of radio and country music,” commented Joe Wade Formicola, Operations Manager/Program Director for The New 99.9 Genuine Country. “It’s great to be working with him again.”
Jay Butler is a native of North Carolina. He resides in Willow Springs with his wife Sam and two children, Caitie and Cody.
