Local UNCW Student is a Contestant on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire!”

UNC-W student Becky Simmons will appear on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” on June 15 & 16. |
Becky Simmons, of Wilmington, NC, will be a contestant in the “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” hot seat on Thursday, June 15 and Friday, June 16, 2006.
Locally in Wilmington, “Millionaire” can be seen on CBS 10 WILM-TV, Monday – Friday @ 5:00pm. The game show currently is in its fourth season and is hosted by the Emmy Award-winning Meredith Vieira.
“We are just thrilled to have a local contestant on the show” said Constance H. Knox, Station Manager for WILM-TV. “After talking with Becky, it sounded like it was no easy task getting on the show. She competed with hundreds of other applicants. We applaud her accomplishments.”

Simmons traveled to New Your City twice with her mother and grandmother, once to apply and again when she was called back to be on the show.
Contractually Simmons can not divulge her winnings but it sounds like she did very well on the show. The public will have to watch the show to see how she did.
