With the July 2006 issue of Raleigh Metro Magazine, Triangle residents found out the results of the annual MetroBravo! awards. And once again, several WRAL-TV & FM personalities made the list.
Over 3,000 ballots were counted in the 2006 MetroBravo! readers poll. In addition to the traditional categories of fashion, dining, media and more, Raleigh Metro Magazine added new entries for best in cool media, including online news, weather and sports. And it won’t surprise anyone to know that WRAL.com made a sweep of those new categories.
So, how did CBC rank? Each category had three winners: the Standing Ovation, the MetroBravo and an Honorable Mention. Here are the results:
Regional TV Personality
Standing Ovation: David Crabtree, WRAL-TV5
Honorable Mention: Pam Saulsby, WRAL-TV5
Radio Personality
MetroBravo: Bill & Sheri, Mix 101.5 WRAL-FM
*Bill & Sheri were the only local radio personalities. The other two were both syndicated programs (Rush Limbaugh & Don Imus).
Weather Personality
Standing Ovation: Greg Fishel, WRAL-TV5
MetroBravo: Elizabeth Gardner, WRAL-TV5
Honorable Mention: Mike Maze, WRAL-TV5
