WILM Holds Parade Fundraiser for Humane Society
|
Quite a crowd gathers for WILM’s first annual Pooch Parade. |
Move over Westminster. Wilmington might just become the premiere dog show capital of the coast. WILM-TV held its first ever Parade of Pooches on Saturday, October 21, 2006, as a benefit for the New Hanover County Humane Society.
This “best of” dog show took place at the Wrightsville Beach Park from 1-4pm. There were 15 fun and unique categories for pet owners to enter their pooches. Prizes were donated by 12 generous sponsors, and WILM created gold medals for the winners as well.
Even the littlest doggies have human compatriots. |

“The event was a success!” said WILM-TV Account Executive Wendy Turner. “We collected over $3,000 in donations for the Humane Society. Everyone had a great time, and we plan on making this an annual event.”
Thanks to WILM’s Wendy Turner for this capcom info & these capcom photos.
