In honor of WRAL-TV’s recent win of the prestigious DuPont-Columbia University Award for two documentaries, the News & Observer featured WRAL Documentary Producer Clay Johnson and the docs. N&O Staff Writer Danny Hooley wrote the piece about Johnson and the WRAL doc wins entitled “WRAL films earn honor” which appeared in the Wednesday, January 17, 2007, edition of the paper.

Johnson and his team won the award for the two Focal Point documentaries “Standards of Living” and “Paper-Thin Promise.”
The win will also be recognized on public television on Tuesday, January 23rd. “Telling the Truth: The Best in Broadcast Journalism” includes interviews with the duPont winners, including Johnson. The program will air at 10pm on UNC-TV.
